Once a consistently conservative western state, Colorado has now become a trendsetter for cultural change in America. To be called to take the hope of the Gospel and the truth of God’s Word to elected officials and others working in Colorado state government is an amazing privilege and challenge!

A primary focus of my ministry as the State Capitol Minister is to meet and develop relationships with people who serve in Colorado state government. Through these relationships, I will: 1) encourage and support them by praying for and with them, 2) speak and teach the Word of God to them through conversation and Bible study, and 3) endeavor to win the right to share the gospel of Christ with those who do not know Him. Additionally, I will be reaching out to PCA churches in Colorado to promote and facilitate specific and intelligent prayer by the body of Christ for those serving in government.

After accepting a call from Ministry to State (MTS) to be the State Capitol Minister for Colorado, Hazel and I moved to Monument, CO in June 2019.

I received a M.Div. degree from Reformed Theological Seminary and have been ordained as a Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) since 1986. I have served as an assistant pastor, solo pastor, church planter, and was the director of chaplains at Arkansas Children’s Hospital for 18 years. Prior to joining MTS, I was the Associate Endorser for Civilian Chaplains for six years with Mission to North America’s (MNA) Chaplain Ministries.

Colorado is a special place for me. I came to know Christ at a Young Life snow skiing camp during my senior year in high school. After college, I was a Young Life area director in Texas and returned to Colorado on many occasions helping high school kids hear about Jesus.

Hazel and I have been married for 37 years, and our two adult children, one son-in-law, and two grandchildren all live in Denver, CO.
